【EVENT】 New Year's Wishful Dreaming
.
Wishful Dreaming Event
On the Eve of the New Year, the city of Starsand is surprisingly quiet. For a place so eager to throw parties, you might think that the streets would be full of life. But instead, Starsand’s streets are quiet and it’s citizens shutting down shops early. In this city, the last night of the year is contemplative and quiet. Citizens might make their last shrine visits, but it’s uncommon to see them out past 11.
They say that it’s important to fall asleep before the New Year, because you want to treasure your first dream of the New Year. Supposedly it’s lucky and prophetic. If you write it down and remember it, that dream can even guide you to your greatest desire. And rumors are always good ideas in Starsand.
Sleep comes easy on this night. Characters will find themselves getting drowsy by 4am at the latest. When they do fall asleep, they fall into a deep and elaborate dream.

[Maybe he is. Broken. Weird. Whatever people call him. But the main thing, to him, is that he sees people again he wouldn't otherwise have the chance to. He can't see them outside of this dream. That's why he's emotional about it. Maybe it might be more horrifying if he saw them as they would be when dead. Seeing that. But here, in the dream, they look as they had when alive. ]

I’m the same. The way that I exist is something that no human could comprehend, really. When we disagree, humans tell us spirits we are wrong. They tell us to have hope and be happy, but they don’t realize how impossible that is.
They would probably think of me as broken too. But to me, I am simply ‘me.’
Is that how it is for you?

[Oz isn't sure he has much if anything really more to add to that. He's aware he is different. Unique. Given his whole identity situation with Jack. But at the same time, he has worked hard and it's taken a long time for him to assert himself. To simply identify as Oz.]

But it’s okay meeting you, Oz. Even if you seem to be a rather depressing sort of optimist. I had hoped for a more exciting dream than this.
[She shakes her head.] And I cannot imagine that dead friends are useful to the Wishmaker.

[The form she has now, he isn't sure if that is what she might usually looks like. If that is what she always looks like. Oz can't say much either, given his rabbit forms. He isn't that bothered, at least she doesn't look injured or anything.]
Probably not, no. I imagine Wishmaker would want people alive, to get wishes from.
