【EVENT】 New Year's Wishful Dreaming
.
Wishful Dreaming Event
On the Eve of the New Year, the city of Starsand is surprisingly quiet. For a place so eager to throw parties, you might think that the streets would be full of life. But instead, Starsand’s streets are quiet and it’s citizens shutting down shops early. In this city, the last night of the year is contemplative and quiet. Citizens might make their last shrine visits, but it’s uncommon to see them out past 11.
They say that it’s important to fall asleep before the New Year, because you want to treasure your first dream of the New Year. Supposedly it’s lucky and prophetic. If you write it down and remember it, that dream can even guide you to your greatest desire. And rumors are always good ideas in Starsand.
Sleep comes easy on this night. Characters will find themselves getting drowsy by 4am at the latest. When they do fall asleep, they fall into a deep and elaborate dream.

Hmm... but isn't it time for an intermission? The audience must be tired.

[ Mafuyu blinks, confused for a moment - but then there's an older woman's voice that can be heard in the distance.
"In order to ensure your future... you'll keep on studying, won't you?" ]
No, the audience still needs 'Asahina Mafuyu'.
[ She stands up and begins to reach out for the mask that's on her desk and begins to put it back on her face in spite of the cracks on it. ]

Audience...?
[Were they the ones who needed her? Is that voice who he thinks it is? He doesn't realize he's glaring until his eyes widen seeing Mafuyu beginning to put the mask back on. He acts impulsively. Maybe it's pointless, or maybe it's not the right thing to do. He isn't certain, but he can only try. Mafuyu doesn't look happy. This can't be what she truly wants.]
Wait, it looks like your costume's been damaged--! [He reaches out as if to try and help, while in reality intending to try and smack the mask out of her hand.]

But it doesn't shatter.
Instead, there's the sound of loud knocking - no, is it banging? - on the door, the same voice speaking up.
"Mafuyu? What's going on in there? I heard something... are you studying?"
It causes her to tense slightly, her dark eyes flitting towards Noe, who had smacked the mask. ]
... I'll grab a new one from backstage before she sees.
[ She crouches down to grab the fallen mask and begins to walk stage right-- ]

[He yells, running after Mafuyu. He doesn't stand in her way, but he does follow her.]
If this play is starring you...wouldn't it be better if you weren't masked?

She won't consider me to be a 'good girl' anymore.

[He frowns at her thoughtfully and ends up smiling.]
I think “good” can have different meanings depending on the person. But you were kind to me on the elevator, and your music circle reached many people including myself…so I think you’re a good person already!
