【EVENT】 New Year's Wishful Dreaming
.
Wishful Dreaming Event
On the Eve of the New Year, the city of Starsand is surprisingly quiet. For a place so eager to throw parties, you might think that the streets would be full of life. But instead, Starsand’s streets are quiet and it’s citizens shutting down shops early. In this city, the last night of the year is contemplative and quiet. Citizens might make their last shrine visits, but it’s uncommon to see them out past 11.
They say that it’s important to fall asleep before the New Year, because you want to treasure your first dream of the New Year. Supposedly it’s lucky and prophetic. If you write it down and remember it, that dream can even guide you to your greatest desire. And rumors are always good ideas in Starsand.
Sleep comes easy on this night. Characters will find themselves getting drowsy by 4am at the latest. When they do fall asleep, they fall into a deep and elaborate dream.

[ The belt tail does help but Yuuto wasn't a hard read anyway. He's used to it. Just like he's used to Yuuto's habit of overthinking things. ]
I don't mind that kind, darling. You're fretting.
[ It's a gentle reminder, paired with a little kiss to his forehead. Once the tea was brewed and everything was put away he could cuddle with Yuuto until he relaxed a bit. He's not sure what happened, but he's more than willing to help him wind down. ]

Then he gasps, like he's coming up for air, and his tail begins swaying.]
Au? Auauau? Auauauauauuu???

Um... Starlight? Are you alright..?
[ Them being married isn't exactly old news. They stayed engaged for a while to appease the in-laws, but it certainly wasn't new enough to warrant that. At least not from his perspective. ]

He turns to the tea, realizing that his face must be turning scarlet by now. Who would dream up the two of them being married?? There's an easy answer right in front of him and it's not the tea pot.]
Y, yeah! Hahaha. Tea sounds great now. I hope it works! [please, dream tea, calm him down!]

[ the dreamscape seems to shudder at those words. ]
I thought it was odd you weren't wearing your ring, but...
... Maybe you don't want to be..?
[ Another, larger shudder. On some level it was probably sweet that he would doubt his own dream if Yuuto was unhappy in it, but on the other that shuddering is very concerning. At least being married wasn't the crux of the dream or else it likely would have fallen apart. ]

No, actually: He isn't thinking. He has to stare in silence while he organizes his thoughts. At least it forces him to shed his panic!
Feeling around with his extra senses, Yuuto finally recognizes the timeless and spacelessness of a dream world. He can finally piece together whose dream this is too... All of which is very overwhelming. Something like marriage seems like such an impossible dream to a lost kami like Yuuto. He wouldn't even have been able to experience it in his imagination without Akutagawa's help.
Finally, Yuuto shakes his head and steps forward. Leaning into his lover's body and reaching for his left hand to hold, Yuuto sighs contently.]
Nn-nn. It's nice. I don't want to leave. It still doesn't feel real sometimes... That you really love me, Ryuunosuke. I'm so happy.
