【EVENT】 New Year's Wishful Dreaming
.
Wishful Dreaming Event
On the Eve of the New Year, the city of Starsand is surprisingly quiet. For a place so eager to throw parties, you might think that the streets would be full of life. But instead, Starsand’s streets are quiet and it’s citizens shutting down shops early. In this city, the last night of the year is contemplative and quiet. Citizens might make their last shrine visits, but it’s uncommon to see them out past 11.
They say that it’s important to fall asleep before the New Year, because you want to treasure your first dream of the New Year. Supposedly it’s lucky and prophetic. If you write it down and remember it, that dream can even guide you to your greatest desire. And rumors are always good ideas in Starsand.
Sleep comes easy on this night. Characters will find themselves getting drowsy by 4am at the latest. When they do fall asleep, they fall into a deep and elaborate dream.

A-Ah, you really don't have to do that...
[She really doesn't need more people to see her mess...]

[Tap's smile is... gentle. Comforting.]
You don't feel like doing it yourself, right?
no subject
[... Well. To be fair, there's... a bit of walking space around. aside from the strewn about papers and the collection of cans (and, thankfully, a reusable water bottle that's not totally empty right now) strewn across and next to her desk, most of the clutter is thrown into or near the boxes that have already been emptied of food. But there's just so much of it...]

[She continues her work, eyeing the wallpaper... that will come later.]
Seems like you've been in here a while.
no subject
Mmm. It's easy to get caught up in work... everything kind of falls away when I'm focused.
[And she often doesn't realize when a full day or two passes.]
Sorry, if it's a bit too messy for you... I don't have people over that often.
[Aside from Honami, of course, but most of her cleaning focuses on the rest of the house. Not Kanade's room. Other than that... when was the last time someone was over...?]

[Not enough trash bags... Time to push things down, try to fit in just a bit more per bag. Some gloves would be nice, but at least this isn't too bad, nothing is going bad in here.]
no subject
[Kanade fidgets as she watches Tap work; she doesn't seem particularly anxious or unsettled about so much trash being thrown away, thankfully, but there's a sort of... apprehension. Like she's worried Tap might touch something she shouldn't.]
no subject
[Maybe she shouldn't admit to that so easily... But it's fine. Probably.]
Hm... I think we're going to need more bags. Do you have any handy?
no subject
[Luckily, though there's still sheet music plastered over the door, it's stuck over in a way that nothing will rip when the door is opened. But on the downside, when Tap goes to open the door, there's just a long, long corridor. Longer than any normal house hallway should be.]
no subject
Hm, okay, that's probably weird. Tap files that away for a moment, but...]
Okay! Be right back, just wait right there!
[Tap hops up into the air, then kicks- and air-dashes down the hallway at breakneck speeds.]
no subject
Except... the hallway seems much longer than what a normal house hallway should be. Bare wood floors, plain painted white walls and ceiling... in the time it would take to reach the front of a normal house, there's just more hallway, until eventually...]
... Ah, did you find them?
[... Eventually, Tap will find herself right back in the doorway to Kanade's room.]
no subject
Sorry, I couldn't... Do you think you could show me them?
no subject
Mm, sure. [She sets her headphones aside; when she stands, her joints creak and pop like she's been sitting in that same spot for quite a while.] I don't know where exactly in the kitchen they are, but... I can help.
[And then, she sets off down the hall! Do you follow, Tap?]
no subject
[She follows, sticking close!]
I'm Tap, by the way! What's your name?
