【MAY EVENT】
it's been a week...
About a week ago, a Rumor started to spread around Starsand City. It started small, whispered only between a few people and occasionally coming up in idle conversation, but gradually it has snowballed. Images of 'the Kami of Sin' become more accurate, until they clearly depict Hanyuu Furude. And though her name is never specifically said, a familiar title does attach itself to the Rumors: Oyashiro-sama.
According to these Rumors, anyone who harms or does wrong to a Fallen Star will be 'Spirited Away' by Oyashiro-sama, the Kami of Sin. She follows you when you're alone, adding an extra set of footsteps to your own pace, and then drags you into the darkness where you will never be seen again. For a week, these Rumors do not develop beyond making the civilians nervous around Fallen Stars... But on May 30th, that changes.
When the people of Starsand City awaken on May 29th, something has changed. Some civilians have vanished from their homes, leaving puddles of starry black goo in their homes. The goo eventually turns into a pile of cherry blossoms, which begin to fill the air like a haunting snow. Throughout the day, more civilians will vanish; Sometimes they turn into goo right before your eyes. This, apparently, is what it means to be 'spirited away into darkness' by Oyashiro-sama. Among those to vanish are Mikale Reed, Shugo Yumeno, and Dimitri Kuroneko.
But for Fallen Stars, the Rumor affects them differently. At various points throughout the day, as soon as the thought of "I've wronged a fellow Fallen Star" crosses their mind, Fallen Stars will also be Spirited Away. But in their case, they suddenly slip between the two realms: Physical and Spirit. They can see, hear, and feel spirits as strongly as they would any other person. And it can be very overwhelming until their bodies adjust. But that's not the only change to happen: Give them some time and Fallen Stars will soon realize that they can now access 'spirit magic.' Which, perhaps, they will find helpful as they try to solve this Rumor and bring everyone back. Or maybe they'll learn something about themselves instead.
PART ONE (starnet/action) [OOC DATE: May 23rd]
- The first part of the event goes up. Characters will begin discovering their powers and have a chance to investigate the Rumor further.
PART TWO (starnet/action [OOC DATE: May 25th]
- The solutions for the Rumor will be implemented and characters will have chances to resolve the situation. Characters can encounter the Cherry Blossom Tree Rumor and the Rumor of Oyashiro-sama.
PART THREE [OOC DATE: May 27th]
- Event Finale. The results of these attempts will be made apparent and the resolution, good or bad, reached.
While this event is fast paced, the focus will be on player characters. There will be no plot heavy consequences for this event, so please do not rush yourselves: Take your time slowly backtagging and exploring the new power system, seeking forgiveness, and menacing the mod team with investigations. This event will be much less structured than the April event and isn't intended to be as stressful.

...This is actually the first time since they met that she'd seen part of Inaba's soul, and naturally... not the first time she's seen her in this state. It's going uncommented on, as she focuses on ensuring the door's secure, heading over to sit on a couch. She'll have to consider herself lucky that Inaba can't see hers, with how she burned through a small amount of magic earlier. The only thing different about her is a bracelet she's wearing, connecting a pair of cherry earrings together. ]

[ She flips open her green notebook. Going over Starnet was a hell of a task, but this kind of thing was old hat. She had to take a deep breath and sort through everything, just like before. When a similar notebook was given to her.
"This isn't permanent. I don't want anyone else to carry this kind of responsibility any more than I want it myself. But I'm forced to admit I don't have the capacity to after everything. I promise I'll take a break for a while, so it's going to be up to you and the others for now."
Ryoko can't participate for too long. She'll stress out, and be spirited away again. So, she'll just speak on what she's seen, gather the others for the meeting, participate, and then go home.

We need to delegate these tasks to smaller teams, since there are a lot of moving parts at this moment. I saw you put together a to-do list, so I thought I'd try to highlight our tasks.
First, talk to Hanyuu-san. It looks like Rokudo-kun's already on it, but hopefully we can hear more from her at some point soon.
Second, we should send someone to check on Satou-san. It might be nothing and they may currently trapped in the spirit realm for all we know, but her husbands *and* one of her sons are missing. If she loses faith in herself, we're screwed, and there's no actual guarantee that we'll be brought here a third time.
If our plan's to change the face of the Rumor, then we need to consolidate our plans. Rokudo-kun and Rika-san have ideas, and you have yours, but we all need to be on the same page if this is going to work. I don't know how much I like lying to the locals like that, but we're up against a wall here. Whatever we can do, we need to do it fast.
We also need to send a group to check on the tree. There's souls growing out of it, right? That... that sounds really, really bad, so if Mei-san and Rokudo-kun are on that as well... we might still need some help on the bottom level.
Last, there's the rest of us. I don't know how effective it'd be, but we might need to try and work on self-reflecting, and feeling better about ourselves. If we have wronged someone, try to make amends. I feel like if we can at least deal with our side of the Rumor, we might have a better chance of fixing things quickly.
[ She closes her notebook. ]

[ Himeko smiles, but it's not one that entirely reaches her eyes. She doesn't seem to be happy or proud about doing this, even if the way she says it seems almost a bit carefree. There's just something a bit off there, even if it's hard to place.
But one thing's for sure: there's a kindling. One of determination that's settled in her heart. ]
To be honest, I'm surprised that I wasn't affected by all this nonsense... ahh, maybe it's because I'm already like this?

[ And, she hesitates to suppose why. Ryoko has no idea if Tau or Mu were affected, and Yuuto clearly wasn't. Being something in between... could that be it? Or... ]
Other feelings are keeping you from feeling like you've wronged any other Fallen Star lately, maybe. Or, I guess you don't think that you have?

[ Then again one of the people that she feels that she's wronged isn't a Fallen Star- maybe that's it. Of course, that doesn't mean that she doesn't think that she's hurt those who are Fallen Stars; the guilt eats at her too much for her to believe she's that strong.

They do say belief is everything in this world. Ah, but... don't tell the others too much on that; I don't want people thinking that if they just simply believe they didn't hurt someone that it'll go away.
[ Basically: she doesn't want people to run away from their problems like she's doing right at this very moment. What a hypocrite she is, huh. ]

I wouldn't. If getting rid of guilt were that easy, none of this would be a problem.
[ After all, she'd spent the last couple of weeks in her mind, wronging others, and then mending those bridges. Even if everything was completely square, she'd still feel like she screwed up.

Hm. I wonder if it counts if you feel like you wronged yourself. [ A beat. ] That's probably not what it is for me, but it's a possibility.

Ah... also, I need to verify something else. Earlier... I was able to use Closed Space without transforming, but I couldn't control it. Yuuto got caught up in it, but he pulled me away from the Spirit Realm and calmed me down.
If others have abilities like that, that can go out of control, we need to be on the same page about it.
For my part... when the meeting's done, I'll go home until this is settled. I'll hope that the others can put an end to this and make sure Dimitri-kun, Mikale-san and Shugo-san reappear safely.

Sorry, it's just... if I stay here, I risk affecting everyone in this building. If I go home... I'll put Taiga at risk, and after everything I've tried to do, I can't let that happen. If I can't protect the one I love, then who can I protect?
