KAMI of LOVE
It is said that Starsand City is built upon the foundation of her love. The Kami of Love is the one who revealed the existence of spirits to the world five years ago and started the “Faith Revolution” era of this world. She lives in a large shrine (more like a castle) and invites the citizens to visit at any time. When you have a problem, the people of Starsand will first suggest that you go to the Kami of Love to solve it.
KAMI of CURIOSITY
This Kami gains power from the questioning nature of humans, which makes him quite powerful compared to his fellow Kami. His shrine acts as the city library and is open to the public. Specific questions can be written on paper and left at the front desk, where the Kami of Curiosity will leave his reply within 24 hours. Curiously (ha,) he also has the power to heal wounds. When civilians are grievously injured, they will be taken to this Kami for healing. Some people have even claimed that they’ve died, only to wake up in the library without any injury.

A 15 year old girl, who often helps Fallen Stars settle into Starsand City. She tries to give off an air of authority and claims that helping people is her job. When she isn’t offering her help around the city, Chron can be found at the local high school. She’s a member of the student disciplinary committee there and one of the top students. Chron is also quite liberal with handing out her “work number” to the people that she meets, encouraging Fallen Stars to call if they need anything.
YUUTO
A quiet resident of the city, who seems about an elusive as a stray cat. When he does get talking, Yuuto is an energetic person and surprisingly friendly. He’s quick to help people in need, but has a way of disappearing the moment that you turn away from him. The people of Starsand can’t say much about him, but mention his strange pink-gold eyes and someone is bound to tell you about a helpful ghost with similar eyes.
MIKALE reed
One of the residents of Starsand City and the owner of the “Heart Bakery.” Though, he will sigh and quietly insist that you just call it “The Bakery.” His bakery gives all leftover products to the Fallen Stars and he hires baking assistants in the morning. Mikale himself is quietly generous, willing to lend help to the other worldly visitors. He also frequents the Shrine of Love and Shrine of Curiosity, often acting as an assistant.
DIMITRI
You’ll rarely hear about this young man, nor are you very likely to find him. He tends to show up for only the briefest of moments, usually in places that sell books or offer tea. Those who have had run-ins may know that he’s two-faced. He can be incredibly pleasant and cheerful or irritable and stern. Whatever mind you find him in, his dark cloak is what draws most attention. It shimmers like a starry sky if you’re lucky enough to see it for long.

Ah, yes... Well, to recap: A Rumor is a spirit who is manipulated by, well, rumors. Their form, powers, and even mental state can all be twisted by popular opinion.
[She leads them to a tea table, which is already set for a small afternoon tea session.]
Humans have a frightening influence over spirits... I'm sure you understand why we try not to broadcast that fact publicly. Back before spirits became public knowledge, the few that did know about them would abuse them. Cult religions, ghost stories, 'blameless' murders... They preyed on spirits who wanted to exist and let them exist as monsters. Because faith was such a scarce resource back then, spirits had no one else to turn to.
That's why I decided to reveal them to the world. It was taboo, but it was a stupid taboo worth breaking. Rumors became less appealing to spirits when they had other, kinder ways to be recognized. I was naïve to think that chapter of our history was over.

That means that there are a few things that need to be worked on. The first being to find out who is abusing this sort of power, and the second is to find out a way to stop Rumors from happening. Which would entail, most likely... some sort of spirit evolution. Just like how humans would evolve and adapt, the spirits would have to, somehow, make it so that they'd be immune to those sorts of effects, maybe... Ah. But I'm just rambling.

To your first concern... Mm. I am vaguely aware that there was an organization that tried to turn bullying spirits into a profession... But they dissolved five years ago and I haven't been able to track them. I got lucky when I bluffed at that thing and it confirmed knowing me. [She shrugs her shoulders,] Also, I would have stomped on it even if it was our first meeting.

Mm... I haven't tried it in a while. I checked Yuu-kun when he first arrived? But he loves so easily that he's a mess. Some people only attach to specific people, so it's easier to tell what direction their strings are going... Others give their love away until their hearts are tied in knots, you know? I can't follow those as easily.

I'm not too familiar with people's powers, but if there was someone who only formed emotional attachments with those from other worlds, maybe there would be some way to get back home through those links. Of course, I can't guarantee that sort of thing working...

[ There's a tinge of disgust in her voice, but it soon fades into neutrality. ]
He didn't tell me much about the shrine itself, just about his existence. All I know about the shrine is what I've heard from the others: that apparently touching it caused one person to see that strange figure who might also be a spacetime kami, that the shrine itself definitely doesn't like my nullification.
Oh-- and there was the whole event with the voices from people's pasts that happened a while back that was connected to that shrine, too.
But. What I also know is that people from other worlds can come up with anything. I don't know if that's the same here, for 'Fallen Stars', but when I was in a different world prior to this one, we could do things that weren't... normal. Since we weren't exactly 'human', anymore.

An influx of you 'Fallen Stars,' the shrine basically blackmailing you into a visit, these stories of a mysterious person between spaces... I suspect and fear that someone brought you here because you're special.

They even mentioned "only taking the strongest ones", so there's clearly some sort of purpose to those words. And I remember Hanyuu mentioned that specific person mentioned being told things by a 'voice'...
Of course, I could be wrong, though. If they're trying to find strong people, then the next question that follows would be 'for what purpose'...?

The fact that this last one was tied to us is already concerning enough. But you're right that it's best not to make too much assumptions, even if they are just theories. At the very least, it's something for me to keep in the back of my head for now.

Our group doesn't have the brightest people, so parsing the important messages in a code or a cipher wouldn't work, so the best bet would be to probably concoct a barrier of some sort.

You can ask Yuu-kun and Tori-kun about that. They handled the barriers the other day, hm? They know how to keep sound from passing through certain spaces and can track the souls in their barriers. Plus. [Satou sighs.] They're going to go behind my back to help you all anyway. Might as well get mama's permission.

[She hesitates. There are probably many more things that Inaba needs to ask of the Kami who embodies love, but 'Satou' is a very selfish person. She is love, after all, and that feeling is grossly selfish in its pursuit.
She decides to pursue the distracting side route, folding her hands politely in her lap as she starts.]
Inaba-san. I apologize that I can't give a straight answers to all of your questions. There are many things that I wish I could share with you all, truly. But in this world, the past has the ability to repeat itself-- It isn't our choice, but something can possess us like dolls and make us relive old stories. Speculation can become facts and fantasy can become reality, and those are not necessarily good things.
You may find that many stories are painted with a rosy tint because of that. But if the sad stories we lived through become too well known, then they will become the same as Rumors and repeat again.
I cannot allow that... but Shugo and I will not stop you from investigating. So long as you reach your conclusions on your own, by your own power, we will not stop you. Just... be kind to our children, if you can.
