[ open ] catch-all log for october (chase edition)
sup, len is a genius and i'm also technically hiatusing this month because my brain is presently a melted cup of strawberry yogurt so here's a catch-all post for all of my characters! along with some current goings on for each of them! feel free to call any of them out for threadin', and hit me up with any ideas through the discord or by DMing any of my accounts!
Ryoko Asakura
Rinne Rokudo
Twilight (Loid Forger)
Ryuunosuke Fujinami
'Rosaline Weston'
-Your local CRAU'd magi, recently spoke to Hanyuu and is able to purify her gem! Is still not really using it often.
-Planning on setting up an oden stand at some point soon?
-Is being told by no less than four people to actually relax.
-Kinda has relationship issues? Is happily taken but also, Confusion.
-Will in general, be grocery shopping, helping out with decorations, and sometimes, idly taking a walk late at night. Just. In case.
-mingle top-level here
-Your local broke-ass half-shinigami. Working/Living/Existing at the Shrine of Sin.
-Trying to find his calling, enjoying not being broke but also kinda listless?
-He won the MVP for Autumn Fest! Instead of getting anything cool or useful, he now has a lifetime supply of pancakes. I'm sorry, Shugo, Mega. That's who this guy is.
-He can be found at the Shrine of Sin, and doing odd jobs for spirits.
-mingle top-level here, and shrine of sin top-level here
-Your local married psychiatrist. Certainly not a spy, most certainly married to Yor.
-Had a run-in with a facility child in August, still hasn't really recovered from the mental strain of not knowing what the fuck happened.
-Never on Starnet, but is always lurking.
-He has an office now. If needed, he can be reached at his ic contact post, but he's not going to turn down any walk-ins. He'd just prefer the heads up.
-Alright, but seriously, if anyone wants to cast doubt on his marriage that's only a good thing. He's going to wind up killing Yor with kindness, before she kills him with embarrassment and broken bones.
-Will be edited once I get a mingle top-level up.
-Your local brawler. Looks like a guy, yearns to dress like a woman.this is currently in progress with milo atm life just exploded for a while
-Still fairly new, kinda adjusting.
-Might be working at a restaurant or something for the time being? Being handsome and charming as always (without trying).
-Confused about spirits, gender roles, not having punched anyone in the last month.
-No mingle top-level this time around.
-Your local... well, she's just kinda vibing right now.
-Though she's starting to get a bit stircrazy.
-this isnt me trying to figure out what to do with her no siree
-No mingle top-level this time around.

As a student, she was used to waking up earlier than most, heading over to make sure that Nagato-san was up and ready, not having played a game she had started the previous evening. Breakfast, and then making a lunch for her until she was able to start cooking for herself and Kyon-kun.
As a magi, she had to train herself to stay up later. Work the night shift, as it were, in order to fight Nightmares and keep her gem healthy. Plus, it made it easier for her to watch over Aisaka-san. They both had to go off hunting at the same time.
Now that she was in-between, designated as a Fallen Star, she had no idea when to sleep, when to be awake, what she should be doing, or anything. The town had been so quiet and peaceful lately, that she couldn't help but feel a bit on the worried side.
That, and after the last month she'd been through, she could use a distraction. Maybe nothing catastrophic, but something...
Which is why she's taking a walk, far past the midnight hour, observing the top layer and considering heading below. She's taking moments to glance at any patches of darkness, trying to figure out if she can see anything moving... nothing.
With a sigh, she'd move on.
Her mind is swimming, and for the first time, she was hoping that a familiar would pop out. A Nightmare would be a welcome distraction to keep her from getting stuck in her own head.
After hours walking's just gonna have to do the trick. ]

While she doesn't transform right away, and doesn't have a weapon, she brings herself a bit closer. She was preparing herself for anything, inching closer to the shadow.
If it attacked, she'd be ready. ]

It's only when he hears Ryoko's footsteps and looks up, and only because he recognizes her face, that the world comes back into focus at all. He slows to a stop, facing her as they walk in opposite directions, and stares quietly for a few seconds. Maybe he should teleport away? He's tired... He doesn't want to hear someone else worry about him. He wants to talk to his best friend maybe, but that's no longer an option. But even if his heart wants to avoid human contact, his mind is exhausted. He can't imagine the formula to safely teleport away.
He can only stare quietly and then awkwardly break the silence.]
... Good evening, Asakura-san. Are you okay?
no subject
She... hadn't really checked in with him completely, had she? She gave him grief for trying to help when he should be relaxing, but that was about it. He still seemed despondent, but right now, all she could do was grin and bear it and nod. ]
Y-Yeah, uh, good evening Yuuto-kun. I'm fine... why do you ask?
[ Did she... really seem that not fine? ]
no subject
... um. It's late. Or early?
[She's smiling. Yuuto should try to smile too, right? But the smile doesn't come.]
People don't normally stay up this late.

He took a short break from writing to take a drink and watch the sky... only to notice Ryoko walking around. ]
Ryoko..?
[ He's somewhere between curious and concerned. People have their reasons for not being able to sleep after all. ]
Hey, what's up?
no subject
[ Ryoko realized, she hadn't... really run into Ceto in a bit, at least not since before that organized fashion trip. All she knew was that Fauna was exhausted after speaking to him, but that wasn't much of anything, right?
Still, she greets him with a smile as always. ]
Oh, nothing, nothing. I just wanted to clear my head and get some fresh air... ah, but I didn't really have time to do this during the day.
no subject
He shut his journal and patted the spot beside him, inviting her to sit with him if she wanted. He got the sense there was more to this than just her wanting fresh air, but he's not going to call her on it just yet. ]
I bet you've been busy with Spirit Day prep and everything else, huh? I can go make you some tea if you want. Might help you to relax a little.

Ah, the peace of the night, the pale moonlight upon mine unfurrowed brow...
[... Can demons get drunk? Or is Pidonus just trying to practice poetic language because she can? (It's the latter.)
Also, she hasn't even noticed Ryoko yet. Perhaps a chance to sneak up? Or maybe don't scare her.]
no subject
[ She's a demon, sure, but what the hell is that kind of language? She doesn't try to sneak up, but she does kind of speak out of nowhere? ]
no subject
Um! Hi! Not exactly! Hello.
[And she recovers, turning towards Ryoko.]

Something about tonight was different, Ryoko had been acting more off than usual, and Taiga found herself out of bed and out the door. The air was brisk and the streets quiet, so it wasn't too difficult to locate Ryoko. Spotting her in the distance, Taiga jogs to catch up with her. ]
...Can I join?
no subject
Oh-- ah...
[ She literally had to bite back her first question, which was why she was still awake. Of course she'd still be awake... Taiga was in the same position she was. Probably also trying to block everything out by looking for Nightmares.
As tired as she is, she nods her head. ]
Mm, of course. [ A beat. ] ...I didn't wake you, did I?

She came to a realization afterwards. If she couldn't decide... that was the answer, wasn't it?
As such, Ryoko decided to step into cafe, nervous. Way too nervous. Asking whomever she needed to. ]
Sorry, is Fauna in today?
no subject
Ryoko!
no subject
H-Hey. Are you busy?
[ She stumbles a bit in her words, but still manages to give her a calm smile. Right... she has to try to keep it together. ]
I um... wanted to have some tea with you here for a moment.

dr forger's office ( open )
The advertisement doesn't necessarily make it seem like he'd be providing deep psychiatric care, but something a little more relaxed, something to go along with the general vibe of the city itself. If someone was too high-strung to speak to him, he'd be unable to get any information at all. Or, really, help out.
And so, the word's being spread. Loid's office is open and available to all. He'd prefer if someone called ahead, but he wouldn't turn down a walk-in. Otherwise, he'll be working at his desk on paperwork.
...and by paperwork, he means trying to figure out how the hell to ensure Operation Strix succeeds, without being able to apply any of it directly. ]
no subject
This is Dr. Forger? I've been told I'd grow a bit from talking to someone about my problems. I'd like to schedule an appointment.
[He sounds so NORMAL over the phone.]

You'd be right. When would be a good time for you?

Which is exactly why Satou called Loid ahead of time and made Yuuto promise to go visit. He knocks nervously on the door with one hand, while the other tries to flatten his hair... Being so anxious has his power manifesting as static and his short hair is a mess.]
H, hello... I'm sorry for the trouble, Mr Forger. I don't have to stay long.

Either way, it was good to have the opportunity to chat again. ]

Hello.
[ His tone is clipped as well, but he's trying. ]
I'm Akutagawa Ryunosuke. I called earlier about an appointment?
no subject
It's why he chooses to speak in a calm, controlled voice. A faint smile, attempting to at least ease his worries a little. ]
Of course, Mr. Akutagawa. Please, have a seat.
[ He gestures towards one of the comfortable chairs. ]
How can I help you today?
