[Kokoro shows up with a couple of packs of stew beef in her arms. She'll set them down by the rest of the food and look over the spread.]
It seems I need not have worried; there should be plenty to spare. At least nothing looks expired or anything...
[night]
[Kokoro stands off to a corner as she watches the large, bright harvest moon in the sky.]
We've been here so long already... How long will it take to return?
Night
Um… Sorry. Has it been very long for you? I think I saw you in May, but… [Has she been here even longer than that?]

Was his memory getting bad? Was it some effect of the forest? If so, why didn't he make a note of it? Most importantly, what happened that made him so angry?
Despite that, he's arrived here with Yor. Playing the role of the happy married couple as usual, despite Loid looking anything but. He's not too familiar with the Kami of Spacetime, nor with the concept of hotpot itself, but it was still to his benefit to give everyone the impression that they were together, so public appearances like this are too important to skip. He's brought potatoes he had cut earlier, and under most circumstances, will have an incredibly false smile on his face.
There may be a few occasions where he'll go to grab a few things, either for himself or for Yor, but otherwise he's sticking to one spot to look at the moon, not really moving from her side.
He's very, very tired. ]
(( feel free to run into him getting food, or with him and Yor together! ))
no subject
But now it was different. Everyone knew, so there was no secret to hide. He wasn’t going to miss his chance to greet everyone, even strangers. When he saw Loid getting more food, Yuuto eagerly met him halfway with a tray of things to cook. And a lot of awkwardness.]

And show off her friend, of course.
Ryoko had messaged Fauna and Ushio at some point, letting her know she was going but not to wait for her since she was going to be doing some food prep first. A hot pot was just an excuse to feed her friends naturally, and so she's been cutting up vegetables and various meats to bring with, not settling for one ingredient. It was a lot, but at least for once, she was in good spirits doing so.
Which is why she comes with a bag full of containers, hot pot ready! She's very proud of herself. Anyone who spots her arriving may see her getting there with her plus one by her side. After all, she didn't know if Taiga had made any friends yet, and this would be the best chance for her to do so.
Throughout the night she's found basically either hovering around Taiga and making sure she's okay, putting different foods into the hot pot, and naturally, occasionally, bringing some to somebody.
...she knows she's not the hostess here, right? ]

But that’s what she is. It’s an awful fact that allows the hotpot party to slowly feel okay to her. She’s still a young adult under it all and she craves friendship just as much as her son. A kami cannot have normal friends, but she can play hostess. By the time that people are arriving, she’s convinced herself that it can be fun and not to worry.
Her paranoia only shows in the way that she greets everyone as they arrive. At the very least, she can make sure that no one cruel gets near her kids. Satou waits at the entrance and waves in greeting, smiling cheerfully.]
Youuu made it! Hey hey!
Ingredients can go over there. We’ll start up the pots in a minute, so go ahead and claim your seat and do some mingling!

So Dimitri is left to sit awkwardly at one of the furthest tables. He keeps his head low, hoping that no one will take interest in him and that he can sit alone. Maybe he can become invisible like a spirit. When he does notice someone approaching his table, Dimitri tries to mask his vulnerable shyness with a scowl.]
You can sit here if you want… I brought noodles for the pot. [He forces eye contact. It’s very hard.]
no subject
You know it's easier to be less conspicuous with someone else. Sitting alone will worry people.
[ It's both legitimate advice and slight teasing- because Ceto always seems to find him hiding on his own like this. It's not really Dimitri's fault that he's anti-social. Being forced into these situations probably doesn't help him much on that front. The least he can do is keep him from attracting unwanted attention. ]

He’s still very awkward about being there. Shugo stands away from the tables, aware that he could ruin the cozy vibe just by existing too close to the wrong people. It’s safer to stand back with a cup of tea and watch. Mikale will save him some food, right? Right?? He just had to be patient.
His stomach growls and Shugo’s cheeks turn red.]
It’s fine. Just pretend you’re researching something. You always forget to eat when you’re researching. [his stomach growls again.] … dammit.

She tried not to make eye contact, continuing on like normal as he muttered to himself.

Unsure of what to do, eventually she arrives with a serving of noodles, veggies and beef on the side. Very carefully, very slowly approaching, as if he'd chew her head off immediately. ]

It calmed her down, truth be told.
When she shows up alongside Ryoko, Taiga is helping with the bags of hot pot ingredients. There's even a few vegetables that look like they were hacked apart without any care! They're still edible, promise.
Overall though, Taiga seems content to spend the night in a fair amount of quietness, watching the moon. She isn't the brooding rogue in the corner of the tavern, but the girl doesn't go out of her way to introduce herself.
Ryoko's probably doing enough of that for herEvery so often, there's a glimpse of a smile as she watches Ryoko bustle around playing pretend party host.Chances are also pretty good that Taiga's eating a pile of noodles and meat. Nothing else. Don't worry about it. ]

Kokichi loathes to be predictable. He can't stand the thought of seeming boring, turns up his nose at those who find enjoyment in things being the same forever and ever, and wants to make things exciting, most of all.
But he's just a tad predictable when he shows up latching onto Kaito's arm.]
Kaaaay. One from each of us, yeah?
[He glances back to Ryoma and Klee.]
You both, too! Add 'em in!
[He then looks back up at Kaito. It's the typical honeymoon phase soft smile on his face.]
Toss ours in too if you would, beloved. Pwease.
II - OTA
[It takes a bit to find Kokichi by himself, but eventually it does happen. He's crossing his arms behind his head, looking up at the moon with a small smile.]
Back when I was younger, a top-secret evil goal of mine was to conquer the moon. I think I would've been a great moon king.
[He comments, almost mostly to himself, but hey, if anyone overheard--]

A whole, huge, pile of meat. Holy crap, there's so much meat. A bunch of different cuts of a bunch of different kinds, and Fauna's looking about. Her tail is swishing back in forth in excitement.]
Where should I put all this?
[does anyone have the heart to tell her she brought too much.
Outside of that, Fauna is... Well. While she's watching the moon with everyone else, she seems much... calmer? Happier? Than normal. Her eyes are brighter than normal... both figuratively, and literally, eyes reflecting the light of the moon like a cat's in a dark space. It might be a little freaky to watch if you're not prepared.
You might be forgiven for assuming she's a werewolf, with how energized she seems to be by the moon. Or maybe it's her hotpot, which is much like a certain someone else's, a pile of nothing but noodles and lots, and lots of meat. She Hungers.]
no subject
It's nice. Ryoko's positive it's mostly down to the wonder that comes from a really, gorgeous visual of the moon itself... which is why she starts off by saying. ]

He scowls intensely as he becomes lost in thought. He isn't trying to glare at anyone, but if he does he doesn't realize it. He's failed, again, so what right does he have to just sit here and relax?]

She hasn't felt like that in a long time, and she was sure she wouldn't really feel that here, among a bunch of strangers, but... something about tonight feels relaxing. Maybe it's the simple fact that she recognizes some of the faces here from the amusement park performances, but she feels much less antsy around a crowd like this. It's... nice.
Nice as it is, though, that won't stop Kanade from being a bit of a wallflower. When the food is cooked and she's grabbed a decent portion for herself - with meat AND vegetables, so nobody has to worry about her eating habits - she'll just retreat a bit away from the crowd, sitting down with her back against a tree and staring up at the bright, full moon.]
With how strange and otherworldly so many things in this place are... I'm a little surprised, that the moon looks the same.
[Said more to herself, rather than to anyone around her]

On the other hand, events like this made Rinne a bit more melancholy than he'd like to admit. Going to a moon viewing party would be something that he'd do with his grandfather, the closest thing to a moment of peace that he'd have been able to get as a kid without his dad showing up for some dumb reason.
Rinne hasn't had much in the way of food yet, waiting for what he considered "his turn" since he really brought one (1) full potato and one (1) leek for flavoring. That meant he couldn't take as much as the others, naturally. So he's been observing the moon, near the tree but not really sitting down, just in case he had to rush over.
The girl that's nearby that's speaking out loud though, a familiar voice. Right, she was Asahina Mafuyu's bandmate. The one that helped bring the others back. ]
A little familiarity is good in a place like this. It helps us feel more at home.
[ Although... ]
It does make me wonder if the people back home can see the same moon we see.

When the party starts, Yuuto is teleporting around to refill drinks or replace bowls of rice. His power lets him quickly clean tables and clear space for late arrivals. But within a few hours, anyone who looks closely will notice that his sunrise coloured eyes are turning entirely pink and he's getting kind of clumsy. Which means bumping into people and apologizing with an awkward laugh;]
Sorry! I didn't see you! [He doesn't look directly at people when apologizing either. Overuse of his power is literally making him blind the human realm, but he's acting way too chill about it.]
[It's much later in the evening, after the party is winding down, that Yuuto attempts moon viewing. His vision is back now that he's rested and he's sitting on the balcony railing.]
Amazing... I've seen the moon change nine times now. I never thought I'd even see if rotate once! Maybe I can be here a whole year..?
babysitting at the party
... That's it. You're taking a break.
[ Sure he doesn't know exactly what's going on, but clearly something is going on, and he's going to find out what and stop it. He just scoops Yuuto right off his feet and carries him off to the table he'd been sat at earlier so he can fuss/interrogate him. That's about when he noticed the different color of his eyes and gently cups his face. ]

I hope I didn't bring too much... I've never participated in a hotpot before, so this is all new to me.

A bit later on into the night, when everyone's settled into their own groups and digging into the food, Kanade finally returns to Mafuyu's side, two bowls in her hands and a soft smile on her face.]

She also seems rather... winded, as she enters the shrine, as well. That was so many stairs, especially when you can't see them. Still, once she enters the shrine, she can be heard calling out softly:]
Hello? Is anyone here? I, um, I was told this is where the 'Kami of Love' lives.... And that I should talk to people here...?
