Yuuto’s Birthday is on the 26th!

As always, Yuuto is incapable of doing things normally. He’s never had a real birthday before, you are. For his entire life, Yuuto has left worlds within a few weeks of entering them. He has never experienced a full rotation of the planet and has never had a birthday that was truly for “him.”

They’ve all been for the idea of “Yuuto,” rather than for Yuuto himself.

But this year is different!

A few days prior, Yuuto sends a general text on Starnet:

Hello everyone! This is Yumeno Yuuto speaking.

I was hoping to have everyone over for a party at the Spacetime Shrine! It would be on the afternoon of the 26th. I’ll prepare a lot of food and set up picnic tables, so please stop by! Thank you for everything!

And then, come the afternoon of the 26th, Yuuto is throwing a surprise birthday party! For… himself!

There are tables with pastries and other easily shared foods; Salad bowls, fried rice, hot dogs… he’s done his best to provide a lot of food! And there is a special table with gifts for everyone who comes. Chances are that you will find a gift with your name on it. If you don’t know Yuuto personally, then you will find a gift with your Starnet username on it.

This party is mostly a mingle! Yuuto doesn’t know what to do at birthday parties besides eat food and cake. He wants everyone to make friends and be happy together, so he’ll spend most of the party playing the part of a host. And he seems very happy spoiling people and waiting on his friends! He’ll be wrapping up the party around 6pm, because he has plans for after the sun sets!

[ Naturally, she was planning on going. She wasn't planning to stay particularly long, for obvious reasons... but honestly, it was Yuuto's birthday. She wasn't going to let her own nonsense get in the way of celebrating with him.

There's just. One issue here. She'd brought him a gift, but then there was... huh. ]

Under the paper, the box has a comfortable dress that is just fancy enough for a date and a cute sun hat to protect pale daughter from the sky laser.]

[Kokoro will receive a party bag, which has a box of chocolate and chocolate covered strawberries. Notably, her gifts are edible and temporary. Because he knows that she doesn’t want to live here forever!]

[ At some point, she became aware of Yuuto's birthday, and had to plan accordingly. The main plan being, just showing up for Yuuto and anyone else who was there, and... making herself scarce after a while.

Still, she's laughing a little when she actually sees him. ]

You know, we would've thrown you a party first if you wanted.

[ Otherwise, she's certainly mingling a bit! Looking around slightly nervously for time to time, but otherwise looking happy to be there! ]

I do wonder what he thinks a birthday party is supposed to be like.

[Kokoro scratches her head and takes another bowl of fried rice.]

[Leo is, of course, here to keep an eye on Elliot and Yuuto. He trusts that they’re both competent people… sometimes.

At least they have a competent friend to help keep them in line.]

[Elliot was exasperated to find out Yuuto was throwing a birthday party for himself...for everyone else?!

How is he supposed to learn how to bake in such a short amount of time?!

It's improper and just like Yuuto to do something like this. He practices for the few days allotted, and eventually he manages to bake...what's probably an individual cake, hardly up to his standards, his hands covered in bandaids as he slides the cake at the end of the table and puts his gift down, sulking off to some corner hoping not to be noticed.]

[You’ve been noticed!

Yuuto is practically bouncing on his heels as he stands in front of Elliot.]

Did you really make that cake? You?? Really really???

Hey! Weird premise for a party, huh?

It turned out nicely, Elliot. [Leo complimenting the cake doesn’t come from nowhere! He wouldn’t half ass a compliment that he didn’t believe in.]

Are you feeling less frustrated with your brother?

[Kokoro shows up with a gift, and thankfully she seems somewhat back to normal. Wonder what happened. Oh well. She'll enter the party, blink, and shake her head.]

Why is he this way, really...

[You can find her at the food table too, inspecting a raspberry crown the size of her face before shrugging and taking it, or just sitting on the shrine stairs looking out at everything.]
