Yayoi will be found trying to investigate, doing her best, but not making much headway!

Tap got her audition rejected so she's going to be sad, but trying to do her best to cheer up and meet people anyway!

[On the 16th, Tap has been waiting for her callback...

And they tell her she failed.

Her heart is crushed, but... She thanks them for their time anyway. She's very bright and cheerful over the phone, hopeful for next time, but that failure... still hurt.

But she knows what she needs to do. If she failed, it's because none of her moves were hers- All of her moves are from a game. It's all just recreated- She can't dance. She doesn't know how.

That means it's time to learn the basics.

On the 16th, Tap can be found in a park, staring off into space, moping. But after that, she'll be working hard: Setting up videos on her phone in a park so she has plenty of space, and trying to emulate the videos she can see. For once, her dance doesn't have her swords, and she's... much, much clumsier than she seemed before. It's like her skill level has gone all the way back down to someone just starting out...]

[ Ai's gotten into a habit of jogging for about a week now - it's good to make sure she stays fit while she's getting back into performing and making a show of working hard and putting in some real effort can only help her if she gets spotted while she's out and about. But today, she's distracted from her usual routine by– ]

Tap-chan?

[ this is...... the most glum looking bun she's ever seen. Ai derails from her lap around the park and makes her way to the bench. ]

It's not like you to look so down... what's up?

[tapformana]

[Tap jumps, as if she hadn't noticed Ai until she spoke up. She takes a moment, rubs her face, and tries to put her usual cheer back on.]

Oh! Ai-chan! It's not a big deal- How are you doing?

[If she forces her normal cheer, it'll work, right?]

[ There's no way this girl is really trying to fob Hoshino Ai off with a fib like that...

She hums thoughtfully. ]

Well, I was doing just fine... until I saw one of my friends trying to fake a smile and act like nothing's wrong.

[ Jiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. ]

Haha... You're really perceptive, Ai-chan.

[Tap laughs a little embarrassedly, but.]

It's really not a big deal, though! I just... My audition got rejected, even though I thought I did really good...

Tap! I’ve been looking for you, where the hell have you been?!

[Elliot shouts to get her attention, his expression decidedly annoyed. His volume drops when he sees her slip in her choreography.]

What’s wrong?

Oh- Ellielli...!

[Tap immediately stops what she's doing to look, with a smile... though admittedly a smile that seems a little forced.]

... It's, it's no big deal. How are you doing?

[That just deepens his scowl. He might not be that observant, but he can tell when his friend is acting off.]

Do you think I’m an idiot…?

Huh? No, of course I don't!

[Saki also failed her audition. But unlike Tap, she was rejected outright on the very first day. It’s something that has haunted her since the start of the month. She spent more time moping than she’d like to admit. It’s only after a lot of crying and being frustrated that Saki packs up her keyboard and drags it out into the city with her. Not even the weight of her portable amp or battery will stop her!

But the sight of Tap in the park does stop her. Saki watches for a few minutes… Then, recognizing Tap’s motivation to practice, she calls out with a big grin.]

Tap-chaaaan!!! Do you need some music for your dances?

[tapformana]

Saki-chan!

[That gets Tap's attention, and she stops.]

I'd love that! It would help a lot! I'm trying to invent something new here, too...

So I am! Maybe if we work together, we can make something awesome!

[Saki begins setting up her keyboard.]

Have you been dancing here for long?

[Having hit a dead end on most of her investigations, Yayoi is going to focus on the new thing that pops up- Stories. The book doesn't seem to hide that it's about Fallen Stars, so Yayoi is driving around to various bookstores, trying to investigate, find everything she can... And while she can, she's flipping through the book.

You might find her coming to a stop on her motorcycle outside a bookstore, a book already tucked under her arm.

Or, if you're paying close attention, you might find Yayoi sitting somewhere quiet and dark on her own, the book open... as she's got a dictionary app open on her phone.]

"Ma"... "Martyr"? How do you read that kanji...?

I see we had the same idea. ...then again, everyone in town seems to have. How it got so popular, I can only blame a Rumour.

[Yayoi pulls off her helmet as she shakes out her her hair for a moment.]

Yeah... But I can't tell if it's a Rumor or just a rumor.

One seems to give way to the other in time, but things that come up out of nowhere and are everewhere all of a sudden... Perhaps it can't hurt to read it just to see.

[preparade]

[ Taiga notices Yayoi with relative ease--it's not the first time she's seen her tucked off to the side in a dark corner--and cautiously walks up as she sees the book. ]

Martyr...? Do people even still use that word?

I have... no idea. What's it mean?

[Her ears swivel towards Taiga, so she doesn't seem startled- She heard her coming.]

[preparade]

Isn't it... something like, someone who dies 'cuz they're too stubborn to admit they're wrong? Think it came from some old dude...

[ She's not necessarily wrong, but she's definitely not right. ]

...Are you really looking through that book?

Search me. I ain't that good with kanji.

[ Listen, she went to school every so often but stuff like that was hard to pin down. There were some characters she kept track of, but she had no idea what the hell that meant.

Karin walked up to sit next to Yayoi, her chin resting on her hand as she read that book. ]

...That thing's got a lotta eyes on it lately. Not a fan.

[After their prior Pool Adventure, Yayoi is suddenly... a lot more comfortable with physical contact. One might even call her cuddlier.

But while she's working, at least, she has the presence of mind to not get too affectionate. Instead she just... reaches her tail over to wrap around Karin's side like a weird, fuzzy hug.]

Makes me almost regret dropping out in middle school...

I'm not a fan either. I just figured I need to know what it says for when they use it against us later.

[ She hasn't been complaining about that at all. The physical contact has been welcome, nice and calming (most of the time) when it's needed.

Plus, sometimes she gets to experience odd stuff like this, which... isn't bad in itself. ]

Hmm. Mind if I take a look at it?

[ Ryoko very occassionally has been stopping by the bookstore herself, double, triple checking to see if anything got added to the book or if any clues had popped up.

When she gets to the store and sees Yayoi, she pauses and holds up a hand in greeting. ]

Hey! Find anything out?

[nightwild]

Oh, Ryoko. Hey.

[She sounds... unenthused, but frankly, Ryoko probably knows her body language by now to tell that the weak swishing of her tail is in fact happiness at seeing her friend. The unenthused is more about the results of her investigation.]

Nothing yet... It's getting frustrating.

[ Lucky for both of them-- Ryoko's seen enough tail swishing from her friends to know that's what that means. Definitely from Yayoi. ]

Mmm. To be honest, this seems so minute that it's hard enough to figure this stuff out on its face. We've confirmed that all of the books have the same contents, right?
