[ A few things can be true at the exact same time. Such as: Bonnie Hood was starting to feel restless, and Bonnie Hood could feel relaxed. That was the case at the moment, as she laid in an inner tube, floating down a lazy river.
Her swimsuit, basically just a modest red one-piece, fit like a charm and the sun combined with the water actually felt kinda good for once. Nyoi-cho was absolutely lacking in any amenities like this, and to be quite honest, she deserved this break.
As boring as it was. As ridiculous as it was to be in a place where so much, yet so little could happen around her.
Still, as she playfully kicks her feet to splash the water, she's gonna take the serene moment and hum to herself, closing her eyes for a bit. Nothing's gonna mess up her rest. ]
[ It would definitely be a shame if something were to happen to interrupt Bonnie's relaxation--in fact, one might even say that fate itself were conspiring against her. Unfortunately for her, fate may very well have it out for Bonnie.
A certain someone doesn't seem to understand the concept of a lazy river. Instead of letting the flow of the river carry her along in her inner tube soaking up the sun rays, Lilith is noisily paddling with her hands to spin herself around... and around... and around.
[ Bonnie was too busy relaxing... at least, she was and then suddenly, she can hear the sound of splashing behind her. Might be just some little brat, goofing around.
Then, it starts to get closer.
And she starts to see familiar wings cycling close to her. And immediately starts to try to paddle away-- she's in too comfy a position to move that fast...! ]
[ Nope, she's not stopping! This lazy river was way too boring, and now Lilith is having a good time. She doesn't even seem to realise that there's someone else in front of her... or she does and doesn't give a single damn. It's probably a mixture of both.
But look at the excitement on her face! It's so close you can almost touch it! ]
[ Very clearly, Karin had made it a point to tell Aimee previously that the whole "I kill people" thing wasn't really a dealbreaker in keeping her as a roommate. Mainly, with one condition.
Karin had spent a lot of her day picking up assorted cans and bottles, firing off a text to Aimee asking her to hang out during the late afternoon. Putting up a location on the fourth level to meet her. She'll find her near a fence!
With each post holding either a can or a bottle. Holding up a hand-- ]
[Aimee had been so relieved when Karin accepted her past, that she hadn't questioned her request to hang out at first. It was only after accepting it and responding that her mind started to race.
She forgot...she doesn't know how to hang out!
After debating on what to bring and wear, she shows up, out of breath from sprinting but not late at all.]
Had a feelin' you might be gettin' rusty, and since there ain't any goo monsters or anythin' around right now... thought I'd sit in on some target practice.
S'alright, right?
[ She's plopping down on an overturned barrel, legs crossed. ]
Karin had hung around the ADA a bit, keeping in contact as she tried to figure out what the hell she was even doing. It was spur of the moment, but... that was what she actually did want. To make Yayoi happy, and be good at this whole relationship thing.
She sends a message... ]
hey busy today? its nice out, thought we could do something
[ Naturally, as word of the book spread around town, Ryoko had to give it a look to see exactly what was written down. She skimmed for the most part, taking up residency at the Shrine of Curiosity while she combed through the book.
When a couple stories caught her eye, she felt a cold chill run over her. How did they--
No, what a dumb question. Of course they knew.
But why publish this?
Ryoko read on, trying to seek out anything that'd lead her to figuring out a motive. ]
[By now, Elliot has read several stories and tried mentally preparing himself for whatever he sees. One was about a girl with blue hair and her friend tagging along after two other friends. Elliot had a feeling he knew who it was, but he couldn’t be certain.
That isn’t why he’s at the Shrine of Curiosity, but when he notices Ryoko he shouts her name and approaches, only realizing that maybe it wasn’t the best idea when he finds himself experiencing another memory.]
[ As Ryoko turns her head, Elliot'll get a good clear vision of her memory, of being a stalker and having her worries about her friends dating brushed away by a ridiculous guarantee.
Ryoko, has no idea what the hell is going on, except that her name's being called? ]
O-Oh, Elliot! What's up? [ A beat. ] You know, we're in a library--
[ If she knew it'd be like this, she wouldn't have signed.
It really was one thing for her to hear her classmates swooning, that was easy enough to ignore. What wasn't were the constant flashes from cameras, the constant annoying questions about how she got started and if she's seeing anyone, and worst: how persistent they seemed most of the time.
After a small bit of complaining, Ryuu was advised to grab a costume in order to keep out of the public's eye. She had decided to hit up a shop to see what she could scrounge up. With assistance from the gal working there...
The answer so far was no, as Ryuunosuke peeked out from a corner, not looking suspicious at all, as she hid away. Man, what a pain the ass. ]
ii.
[ What was the big deal about some book? Sure, it was about Fallen Stars, but she had figured that they themselves had given up most of the stories put in there. After all, how else would they get this info?
That was naturally, until she came across her own stories.
It took her a second, reading on about this 'kid' who went through eerily similar things that she did, until she got to the part about the 'kid' 's date for a certificate. That was a little too close on the button. ]
Oi, how the hell did they-- eh?
[ This sure as hell didn't make sense. Even so, Ryuu can be found at Canis Major reading through this thing, idly glancing at the pages. ]
Like... the illusion magic in there. I started reading that story, the one about the kid fighting their dad 'cause he wouldn't let them wear the girl uniform instead of the guy one, and then just when I was thinking it reminded me of my friend back home and her loser grandpa, I was in it.
It would be more accurate to say before that she never got rattled to begin with: after all, as pointed out in one of these stories she read, her trip to Makai, and her being pulled into the Majigen were brushed away as legitimate concerns. After all, it just meant all of the Darkstalkers within those realms would be hers for the taking. She would slay them all and cash in on their bodies as always.
Even when she arrived in Nyoi-cho. Nothing there, none of them were worth being thrown off or disturbed. Not until her memories were stolen from her, not until her happiness was taken, her faith in the others shattered beyond repair.
The book in front of her was a diary, a compendium of her three greatest failures as a magi. The other two memories were of a better time, before she became the hollowed out monster that she was.
She had been reading peacefully in a park, enjoying the sunshine and smirking at most of the stories in there... before she re-read hers.
As a result, anyone coming by might be able to catch her as she tears the books to shreds in front of her.
[Kagami jogs over to Bonnie, holding several of the stories about her in his arms. He can't help it; Bonnie is one of the few people he likes. Unfortunately for her, she also intrigues him.]
