I need parenting advice. None of the books I've read mention this, and it might be best to get insight from a real person.

Does anyone have suggestions on how to keep their kid from stealing? Or advice in general?

Should I send her to school.

Or teach her at home.

Have her sign up for a club?

She likes garlic but I can't use garlic bread as a reward for everything. Any other ideas?

Wouldn't it be easy to just tell them not to steal and teach them why it it's morally wrong to do so? I think being straight forward is best in that sort of situation.

As for schooling... it depends. Would you be able to teach her all the fundamentals properly? There are a lot of subjects, after all. And the biggest difference between going to school and being homeschooled is having to deal with others; if she's old enough to make decisions, perhaps you should ask her what she thinks on the subject. Would she prefer to learn about the world with other people or not? What would be easier and safer for her? Things like that.

And for rewards- stickers and stamps are pretty common. If she likes garlic, cooking recipes that utilize garlic would be good as a reward. There's garlic fried rice, as well as several pasta recipes that use garlic. You can also pickle them in soy sauce as well for a snack. But if you're stuck, have you tried asking her if there's anything else that she particularly likes?

If it's overwhelming, you can break it down further into parts. Don't ask her everything at once.

Are you talking about Mu-chan?

You sound like her father.
