THE FACILITY SIDE

SETTING THE SCENE

IC Introduction

When the victims awaken, they are in a small room with sterile white walls and tiled floors. Their bed is only barely comfortable with thin sheets, though the colour is suspiciously close to the victim's favorite. There is a single red door with a stubborn digital lock and no windows.

At the foot of their bed, the victims will find a neatly folded pile of clothes and 3 comfort items from home. If they have a spirit contract, then they will feel heat from the shrine object but be unable to connect to their spirit. They'll be left in solitude for about an hour... Then the red door opens and the real nightmare begins.

OOC RUN DOWN

This portion of the event will run from APRIL 15th to APRIL 20th. During this time, the kidnapped victims will be isolated from the city and only have contact with each other. It will take place over the course of around 8 hours, with characters going missing and appearing in the Facility at 6am in the morning.

There will be [4] segments to play during this time. They are all optional. If you don't want to play with a part of the event or want to handwave parts, then you are completely within your right to.

[SEGMENT ONE - Starnet??? WORKS???]

kinda. The victims will find their Starnet devices safely under their pillows when they wake up and they will work! Within the Facility. Victims will be able to see every Fallen Star on Starnet, but they will not be able to send them messages. They can, however, receive direct messages from their friends. Check here for more details on that. What's important for this log is that the victims will only be able to send messages to each other. They can send text, audio, and very blurry videos to each other.

[SEGMENT TWO - Candidate Mingle]

At 8am, victims will be released from their private rooms to a larger holding room. This room is as sterile as the one they came from, but considerably larger. There is a table set with a suspiciously well cooked meal of miso, a protein, rice, and a vegetable. There will be an hour to eat and mingle. No outside explanations will be given at this time.
Looking around, the characters will see that the room is circular and the doors to their rooms connect in clock-like position. There does not seem to be a door that does not lead to one of the victims' rooms. Their name and the kami of their candidacy is written on a plate by each door.

[SEGMENT THREE - Candidate Trials]

These are the small logs that occur within each group of kami candidates. They start at about 12pm. They will receive mod replies and last until April 20th. On April 20th, the trials will abruptly end. Mods will reply a maximum of [10] times, so please keep that in mind with your own replies! Do not start replying until you receive mod permission. We are still waiting for some of you to confirm or deny your interest in a group trial!

After their trials have concluded, around 1pm, the victims will notice a change in their Starnet connection... Wait until April 17th for details!

Your characters do get a party bag to take home with them. Please claim them here.

[FREE OUTFIT] The free outfit on your characters' bed is what they will wind up wearing into the Timeloop. For the most part, this can be anything. There is only one slight rule: It should prove to the character that the Facility knows them well. It might be an outfit they saw in a magazine and dreamt of buying. It could be a comfortable outfit from home that they miss wearing. Or maybe it's an outfit that they didn't necessarily find comfortable, but they have strong memories of wearing. In any case, it is made of reinforced fabric and will be able to withstand their trials.

[THREE COMFORT ITEMS] Again, these are freebies that can be taken through the Timeloop. They do not count towards your other 5 declared items for the character. Mostly because these are not magical or game changing in any way. They should be small items that can fit at the foot of their bed without being uncomfortable or dangerous (no weapons, obviously.) Instead, what these items reflect a sort of bribe. Comfort items should help your character understand the the Facility knows them well and can reach their home world. They can be small items from their home worlds that they did not have before, or small items from their Starsand home that have positive memories attached. Regardless of whether they are physically holding this items during the timeloop, they will reappear in the Spacetime Shrine and be possible to collect.

Characters can communicate with others who are trapped in the Facility! They will be unable to send messages to the Fallen Stars outside of the Facility, but will be able to receive one-way messages.

After lunch, Kanade, Tap, and Leo become drowsy and fall asleep in their rooms. They awaken in a dark room...

The room is pitch black. Beneath their feet, the floor sounds like it is made of the same tile as their rooms were. There are no lights anywhere on the ceilings and there is no furniture to bump into. Aside from each other, they can hear nothing else in or outside of the room. In the center of the room, difficult to see due to the lack of light, a glass bottle hangs from the ceiling on a string. Inside is the small and fading glow of a spirit, which squeaks pitifully for attention.

Before they have a chance to converse, a robotic voice sounds over the PA speaker: "The spirit's LIGHT will go out in FIVE MINUTES. You can save it by sharing your own LIGHT. That is the ONLY way."

[Leo does not waste time; He's checked his room over, grabbed his things, and reached some very irritating conclusions. As soon as he's snatched his Starnet device and checked how useless it is, he attempts a text:]

1. Music Box - item from home. A music box that belonged to her mother, with a picture of a very young Kanade and both her parents all alive and smiling taped on the inside of the lid. It plays a soft, gentle song that Kanade's father wrote for her mother.

2. Kalimba - item from starsand. A small wooden kalimba that can be worn as a pendant, given to her as a christmas present from Mafuyu. On the back of it is Niigo's logo, and the names of all their circle members etched into it.

3. Necklace - item from starsand. Another gift from Mafuyu.

Oh also - her outfit will be the giant, oversized hoodie that she wears in most of her default art. It's not an outfit Kanade ever really wears, but it's a sort of uniform that spawns in the SEKAI???

Her outfit, naturally, is her North High school uniform. How fun.

1. A Handheld Gaming Device from home. There's not much in the way of battery power, but when it's powered up from sleep mode, the game is one that Ryoko would recognize as something Yuki Nagato plays quite a bit.

2. A Pair of Earrings from Nyoi-cho. Specifically, these earrings are long with a small red sphere attached to the bottom. They look kind of like cherries.

3. A Shabby Scarf from Starsand. It matches the color of her gem, and while it doesn't look well-made, there's a lot of love in the stitches.

Pidonus' shapeshifting means she didn't have a lot of unique outfits from home... And just giving her a copy of her Succubus outfit would be like "oh, woo, you know basic fancy clothwork skills and took photos of a girl who's been working as an idol, how spooooky."

Instead, what they proffer her is a flashy, almost but not quite gaudy Entertainer's outfit, of a sort common to her region. The sort of thing Riana Falconerson would've worn if it had been her, instead of Pidonus.

The first of Pidonus' comfort objects is a lute - local to Starsand, and a common musical instrument. They may be aware of her Bardic Music abilities and being able to use the lute as a focus for that, but given she can just sing to do that, it's not making her particularly more of a threat. If this is too large, a smaller wind instrument like a flute or some panpipes would be a suitable alternate.

The second "comfort" object is... A plush-ish doll, resembling a baby owlbear, obviously freshly cleaned to try and get ash and soot out of it. Pidonus doesn't recognize it, but looking at it is both hurtful and soothing, which is enough to tell her it was Riana's from her youth, and somehow survived the razing of Riana's village.

Finally, there's a small omamori of a design from the Shrine of Sin - a reminder of what Pidonus has done since she came here. That the Facility sees both her past and her present.
