[Kagami had been perfectly content to sleep wherever outside that suited him. As long as he kept this body alive, things like food and shelter made little difference to him for the most part, and it was one of the easiest ways to pinpoint the absolute worst of humanity and using them. Had he not run into Eliot, he probably would have continued living like this, at least until he figured this place out.
But poor sweet, air-headed Eliot. Now that Kagami knew he was here too, he couldn’t just leave him alone. As entertaining as that might have been, it wouldn’t have been worth the sleep he would have continued to lose wondering what stupidity he may have gotten into unsupervised. Eliot was bad for his health. Yet…he wasn’t unhappy when he saw Eliot here the first time, the exact opposite in fact. He hated his friend had that kind of affect on him.
Either way, being an immortal, looking after Eliot was really the most pragmatic choice, which lead to Kagami walking in Eliot’s apartment (their apartment?) with all of his belongings—- things he had stolen from locals, some colorful and sparkly things that had caught his eye because they kept his hands busy. Nothing to actually live off of.]
I can’t believe we get to be roommates! [He chirps, dropping his stuff unceremoniously to finally get a good look at his surroundings.]
[Likewise, Eliot is delighted to see a familiar face. But unlike Kagami, he makes no effort to hide it. His apartment was already a two bedroom, but he's gladly cleared everything from his study room so that Kagami can takeover. And though Eliot likes to keep a tidy space, there are signs of his forgetful nature scattered around: Books in random places, sticky notes with daily reminders, half-finished sudoku puzzles and the like... Having a roommate who doesn't erase their own memories will be good for him.
He looks down at the collection of stuff with unrestrained awe.]
Yeah, it's great.
You sure got a lot of neat stuff, Kagami! I already got you a bed and some shelving, but maybe we should get more?
[Choosing one of the misplaced books at random, he flips through the pages to learn what caught Eliot's interest, skimming the words before putting it back on a shelf with a sense of carefulness he normally doesn't display.]
You...got me a bed? [His facade breaks just a little, some complicated, confused emotion swimming in his eyes. Before he can embarrass himself and show any real weakness, Kagami runs over to clasp his roommate's hands.] Eliot, you're too kind!
[He means it. Eliot may make him want to pull his hair out at times, but he's too kind to let him stay here and even thought about his well-being. What the hell.] Oh, that stuff? Some of it's for you! I got you this, and this, and this is some kind of exfoliator that I found-- it smells sweet, you can have it if you want!
[He pulls out some random things he found, including a mochi plush as well as some pens that look way too expensive to have been purchased with fancy stationary.]
[The books around the apartment cover a variety of subjects: World history, myths, fiction of all genres… There are even children’s books scattered around. Eliot’s purpose is to consume art, after all, and he takes it very seriously.
He doesn’t notice how Kagami helps him to tidy up, having been distracted by the pile of treasure on the ground. But he does clasp Kagami’s hands and smile to accept the gratitude.]
Of course I did! You need to take care of your body.
[He glances at the pile;] Oh, really? That would be amazingly helpful! You know how the cold weather interferes with my health… I fear I look more like a vampire than ever at the moment.
[Even though he’s never taken art as seriously as Eliot (he’s not that patient), he admires that the vampire has such eclectic interests and doesn’t settle on one genre. He makes a mental note to look more into it later and possibly make sure Eliot’s books are easy for him to find.]
My body…ha…yep.
[His sentence dies in weak laugh, but it’s easy for him to distract himself with rummaging around the pile until he finds a fluffy blanket that might as well be a pastel cloud and wraps it around Eliot’s shoulders.]
You do look a bit pale. Are you eating enough?
[He’s pretty sure he already knows the answer to that.]
[Eliot looks concerned at first. He likes having a healthy looking body, after all, so why shouldn't Kagami like his too? It's nice to be attractive looking! Eliot is a vain vampire!
But when the concerns are turned his face, Eliot's concern deflates into a defeated look.]
I'm getting enough to stay awake, at least. I can't go outside in this weather or I'll turn into a popsicle. B-But beggars can't be choosers, so..!
[Eliot is attractive looking! Kagami’s smile at his success in distracting Eliot falls. He sounds disappointed but not surprised.]
That must have been terribly boring… I know! I can go out and get you what you need until you feel better. It’s the least I can do since you’re letting me stay here! I like spending time with you when you’re awake.
Moving in! (Closed to Eliot)
