【OPEN CATCH-ALL LOG FOR FEBRUARY】

This post will be considered a catch-all log for the month of February for any of Len's characters.

The list currently comprises of Hanyuu, Yor, Mafuyu, Ushio, Inaba, Kaguya and Eiko. As a heads up, however: if you plan on instigating any negative CR right off the bat with Inaba in particular, please message me first. I'm fine with negative CR if it happens organically, but I'd like to limit the amount of it for her given her state of mind, as I don't want her to crumble to the point where she becomes basically unplayable again.

Custom prompts may be asked upon request, just hit me up either via PM, Discord (Len#9692) or at tsundereban as needed.

relevant events for my cast this month:
feb 3 - setsubun
feb 14 - valentine's day ( inaba, kaguya and yor will be unavailable during this day. )

relevant notes for my cast this month:
hanyuu - will be in her child form all month. she also has partial memory loss, meaning that she will be struggling to remember starsand-related events and characters' names. she will recognize them to a degree, but not be able to refer to anyone by name. she will also have full awareness as her role as a kami.
inaba - will be somewhat mia during the first half of the month unless people actively ask for her; she's having ushio disguise for her during this period while she recoups. she will be spending most of her time on the third level and her hotel room.
ushio - will be disguised as inaba for the first 14 days of the month, but there'll be periods of time where she's herself! will start trying to plan on how to deal with the facility kids and their trackers.
mafuyu - oocly unavailable until the 10th.

[Of course Velda shows up for work. Her voice has come back, and she's been thoroughly de-mushroomed safe for one or two that might grow off her head, but she's looked subdued all day as she sits at the front desk selling charms.

When Hanyuu comes by, she'll look over and offer up a smile.]

Are you feeling any better?

[aupologizes]

Ah-

[ She pauses momentarily before shaking it off. ]

I'll manage. I did overdo it a little bit, but... someone told me that he'd help me handle things around here.

[fallmushrooms]

Sounds like us. [She sighs a little, relieved.] And not like I can blame you for overdoing it, either... Sorry if it looked a little scary back there. I guess that's what happens with my curse. So you just need time to rest, huh?

[aupologizes]

For the most part, yes... although I did wind up damaging my horn again.

[ She brings a hand to her chipped horn, which has opened up even more than it was previously. ]

Oh, man, are you okay? I don't know any healing or I'd try some... it's all really advanced and I was never really good at Life. Guess you, uh, know that.

[ A couple of days have passed since he and Kaguya had been shuffled off to a different level, hung out for a while, and then were just as soon sent back after many, many emotional landmines were set off. The whole thing was a whirlwind, with so many moving parts that he couldn't help but feel like he missed out on a lot in just a short period of time.

This must have been what it felt like to observe himself from the outside. He didn't understand literally anything that happened, anything about these spirits or the strife with kami or whatever these rumors were meant to be.

After some time to decompress, and attempt to put any of this into his head, he finally decides to check in with the only other person he thinks may be in the same boat. ]

Hey... er, Shinomiya.

[ They'd settled into their home fairly well-- at least, he thinks they have. It was still odd to think of them living together, but this is what they'd both worked hard for... wasn't it? ]

Are you busy?

[ The last month was a lot--and it was certainly out of their depth. Sure, after reading many text messages over the Starnet devices she slowly began to comprehend what was going on, she couldn't help but feel like she was a fish thrown into a shark tank.

It felt like these people were planning on going to war, really.

Just looking at it from the sidelines felt exhausting.

But now it was February. She had to start preparing for Valentine's Day. And sure, it was quite strange, the idea of them actually living together--truthfully, she believed that something like this wouldn't happen until they actually got married and she took on his last name, but... this was fine, too.

She perks up slightly at Shirogane's familiar voice calling her by last name (there was slight disappointment in her chest, but she opted to ignore that) as she shook her head at his question. ]

Not at the moment. Did you perhaps want to do something today, president?

[ She knows he isn't the president anywhere, anymore. But she didn't know how else she should refer to him... and habits were not exactly easy to break. ]

"President", huh...

[ He should try to say her first name a lot more than he does, but old habits die hard. ]

I'd really like to, yeah. I need to clear my head.

Is this perhaps your way of asking me out on a date?

[ Look, if he really wants her to call him something else, he's going to have to earn it. Or... you know, ask. ]

--Oh. Yes, actually. We could make it a date.

[ He really just wanted to clear his mind, but honestly, spending time with his wonderful girlfriend would probably be the best option? ]

Mafuyu

[After last month, Kanade's been feeling... well. Restless isn't quite the word for it. But after the rumor attacks, after all the tension and emotions running high, Kanade had felt herself falling back into a slump. She was starting to feel useless again, feeling weighed down by her lack of any kind of practical skills outside of music. She... she wanted to help. Even if she could never be a fighter like all the people that took on the more dangerous Rumors, or someone offering more substantial support like Mafuyu's first aid, she wanted to be able to support people in other ways.

So, when things finally felt calm again, she'd asked Mafuyu to teach her how to cook. She had to start somewhere simple, right? Right!

They'd been on their way home from the store, ingredients for a few easy meals in hand, when they pass by one of the wishing boards. Kanade idly skims all the notes and such, a small smile crossing her face beneath the scarf wrapped snugly around her at all the compliments and gratitude... but then she stops in her tracks, eyes still locked on the board.]

Hey, Mafuyu...

[She reaches out to catch Mafuyu's sleeve before the other girl can keep walking away, then points to one request in particular.

"I hope to hear that song again."]

... Do you think...?

[applehearted]

[ Mafuyu stops when her sleeve is grabbed, her gaze following Kanade's finger, to where she's pointing at and reads the request in her head. ]

Maybe. Should we find the spirit that made that request...?

[Kanade nods.]

If it's possible... if there's a spirit out there who was touched by our music, I want them to be able to feel that again.

[The spirits are pretty much people here, too. That Kanade wants to do all she can for Niigo's music to reach them, as well.]

If that's a reference to what we did during all of that chaos... we can at least start narrowing down what song it might be, while we look for the spirit.

... I think so, too.

[ Not only will they be able to have the spirit hear their song again, they could also showcase some of their other ones, too. ]

How easy do you think it will be to find the spirit?

It might be difficult, with how many spirits are out there...

[Like a needle in a haystack. But when it comes to something like this, Kanade refuses to give up.]

... Maybe we can find areas in the city where more spirits than usual tend to gather, and play there? That could get their attention a bit easier.

[It's another day at work when Velda shows up with a box wrapped in newspaper. She holds it out for Hanyuu with a smile.]

Hey! Since Valentine's is also about spirits here, I thought maybe we should get you stuff, too. I saw these and thought you might like them!

[Inside are... these. Why were they at the thrift store? Who knows.]

I thought they looked cool! And you're from the countryside, right? So I thought maybe vegetables are kind of like farm stuff, which is kind of like small-town stuff, which would make you not miss home so much.

No, it's just... it's not the kind of thing that you give for Valentine's Day, I think?

[ Which is why she looks so baffled, truthfully. ]

I am from the countryside, yes but I wouldn't say farming really reminds me of Hinamizawa. But... I think this is nice.

Oh... sorry. [She awkwardly tugs at an uneven piece of her hair.] I just heard it was also about spirits here, not just romance, and I figured kami counted, and you do all this stuff for us. But... thanks? I hope you like it, anyway.

hanyuu; backdated to feb 14th

[ Luz doesn't have a shift today, but she shows up at the Shrine of Sin bright and early regardless, holding a small, wrapped gift box in her hands. She pokes around the courtyard for a few minutes before she spots Hanyuu and promptly shuffles over, sweat beading on her brow as she approaches. ]

G-good morning, Hanyuu-sama!

[ Not only is she being more formal than usual (hello honorifics she learned from anime), she's being far too loud. She holds out the gift box with shaking hands as she leans down to bow, only stopping when her body resembles a right angle. ]

I'm sorry for all the trouble!

[aupologizes]

Um... there is no need to refer to me with '-sama'.

[ She answers shyly as she takes the gift. ]

Can I open it now?

[glyphwitch]

[ Slowly, she rights herself, standing at her full height again. Her cheeks are a little pink, and she's giving Hanyuu a sheepish look. ]

...Right. I was just. Trying something new. Sorry.

[ She gestures towards the gift box and nods. ]

Yeah, go for it.

[aupologizes]

It is alright. People have referred to me as Oyashiro-sama in the past, but... 'Hanyuu-sama' doesn't sound right.

[ Nevertheless, Hanyuu opens the box and her eyes widen ever so slightly. ]

This chocolate is for me...?

[glyphwitch]

[ Quickly, Luz nods. ]

I know it's not much, but I wanted to give you something to make up for all the trouble I've caused for you lately.

[ She shifts on her feet a bit, uncomfortable standing still. ]

They're, uh. They're homemade, if that means anything. I took one of those classes they were offering around town. So hopefully they're... actually good.

[ She's never tried making chocolate before now, so she wouldn't know. ]
