Hello!!!

I know that there's a lot that's going on, but I have something important to ask!

How do you choose a gift for someone? I've been trying to figure out on what to get but I don't know what would be appropriate!

[ Please help. She desperately needs it. ]

[ ...Hm. It made sense that Yor would be getting presents for others, honestly... but figured it would be a lot easier for her. The best he could do would be to just give solid advice from what looks to be a stranger. ]

Take their interests into consideration. Do they have any hobbies or show a mild interest in anything around them? Perhaps there's something they need that they aren't aware of? You essentially have unlimited options.

[ Tennis?

..."Him"...

........... ]

I think he'd be happy with whatever you get him, as long as there's meaning behind it.

I'm positive. If it's in regards to who I believe it is, he may seem difficult to please. However, those are the types who aren't used to receiving gifts.

In fact, if you wind up not getting him anything at all, I'm sure he will still be content with that.

hmmmmm it kinda depends on who they are! if its a coworker or smth you can't go wrong with some nice food or like... fancy lotion! no one's gonna be upset to get something like that. ohhhhh or a voucher to do something fun!

but otherwise just think about what they like to do! somethin like a really good book, or nice clothes, or if they're always complaining about their wallet falling apart, a new wallet! that kinda stuff

oh!!! nononono you arent a bad wife i think this is normal!!!

[ She in fact, has no clue if it's normal or not. Her parents had always cared more about the monetary value of a gift than the quality. ]

you could get him something sappy! write him a poem! if its your first christmas together, i bet something sentimental will mean a lot.

stuff like uhhhh a photobook! memorialise somethin like... your first date! or when you got married! stuff that someone else might not get, but he'll look at and he'll think about his love for you!

if he doesn't like a poem written by his wife, he'd be a bad husband... but it never hurts to get some inspiration, especially if you don't know where to start. my friend's been to the library a lot and i'm preeeetty sure its got a lot of books

I don't really know if I'm good at it, but I figure just look at where and what you can afford and pick things that look like someone might like them? Then you'll always have presents! I think.

[Disclaimer: this extremely vague advice has led to Velda giving horrors to her friends and acquaintances.]

Right? It's kind of weird adjusting to that, but it feels amazing! Like you can just get ANYTHING!

What kinds of stuff does the person like?

[personal profile] fallmushrooms 2022-12-06 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Supplies? Or, uh... maybe something that'll help like food or something?
fallmushrooms: Worried and lonely. ('guitar solo' sounds lonely to me...)

[personal profile] fallmushrooms 2022-12-06 03:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh... take him to Wonderment or something?
fallmushrooms: Winking, trying and failing to assure. (just bought the giant metal spider from)

[personal profile] fallmushrooms 2022-12-06 04:57 pm (UTC)(link)
I mean, kind of? Unless it's not a date. It kinda depends on whether you think it's a date or not. I think.
fallmushrooms: Looking to the side, mushroom growing out of her head. (unsure of what to study? learn magic)

[personal profile] fallmushrooms 2022-12-07 01:03 am (UTC)(link)
Wait, it's still embarrassing if you're married? No one told me that.

[personal profile] fallmushrooms 2022-12-07 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously? I mean, I guess, if you're trying to be all dignified and stuff, but I'd still go. I think. I mean, when you're an adult, you have the freedom to go wherever you want. Uh, technically, since we're trapped in another world and it's really hard to even leave the city, so I guess that doesn't apply, but you know what I mean...

Maybe? I mean, people'll say that about anything, so maybe I'm not the best judge, but it seems more fun than just walking around the farms a couple levels down or something.
