It's been like a month, but

Wild camping trip we had, huh? Maybe we should talk about it.

From what I've gathered, we got followed to the forest by two of the Cursed Children from the Facility. Seems like one of them, 'Mu,' got turned into a Rumor... So let's get to work on bringing her home. She's waited for rescue long enough.

Ask me whatever to get up to speed.

natives cant make it to the spacetime shrine so if we could somehow get her there shed be safe from the facility

Marbles, huh?

Makes sense that she'd be scared. They teach those kids to fear everything. It's how they can control them. Unteaching that is going to take more like a few conversations, unfortunately.

For the uninitiated...

If 'kami' are spirits given power by faith and hope, then 'rumors' are spirits given power by curses and faith.

We haven't had any around the city this month, which is weird... They were a monthly occurrence until now. Anyone seen anything?

i havent
i can think of a few reasons

first
they didnt want to get predictable
if we know they come monthly we can prepare and that makes it easier to fight them

second
they spent all their resources on last months attempt
they dont have anything left ready to throw at us

third
they did and we havent found it yet

ABOUT THE FOREST KAMI + RETURN TRIPS | un: briar rose

Our group met with the forest kami.

A lot of the problems that are happening over there is that the kami doesn't trust humans because of things that the Facility did, I believe. Not that I know what exactly happened between the Facility and the forest.

And that a lot of the spirits are there because of that distrust, too.

So we wanted to potentially have people go back to the forest to show the spirits and the kami that there are people that they can trust.

If the train isn't an option, then I can help bring people to and from the forest on occasion..?

I think that it's a great idea to go back and visit. They won't change their minds in a vacuum.

re: Mu's powers

When a friend and I met Mu-chan a few months ago, she had two primary abilities:

one- She could take my emotions and turn them into power. She made some copies of me that acted on those feelings and tried to use them to hurt someone.

and two- She could isolate my emotions and make me feel only one thing. She used that to make me angry enough to hurt someone.

And I think... in theory, she has a third:

I think she can erase her own feelings. She may not even be conscious of it... But she seemed really 'off' and distant. Did anyone else have that kind of experience with her?

Yeah, she was super off in the forest. Tried to fight us, but we managed to talk her down.

I see. That explains the activity in town while you were all gone, as well. Creatures converging on the Shrine of Love.

Satou mentioned something about that.

You all managed to keep the shrine safe though, yeah? Good job.

Distortions

I met and fought with someone in that forest that was after Mu's life. Discussing the issue, he stated that being a Kami and being a Rumor were fundamentally opposed and that the two cancelled each other out. When this happened he called the affected person a distortion and said that there was no other solution than killing them assuming they pass a certain point. He didn't expand on this, merely saying that she "wouldn't be able to return to being human".

... Obviously this is a problem. This person described Distortions as being more powerful than either Kami or Rumors.

I'm posting this as a warning to the Kami to be careful. I don't know what that person is up to, but he arrived when Tau was affected as well. He's more than just another Kami...

... There are several things I could observe.

I hold a little... Marble, which depicts Mu's rage. That was what tried to attack me and Atsushi. I'm going to guess it's critical to getting her free from that Facility - it's literally at least symbolically part of her, after all.

Getting out of there is tricky. They really beat it into you that you have no power to leave, even if you're basically a kami.

Pidonus-san and I met Mu-chan in the forest.
She seemed to have that Rumor goo on her and wasn't acting normally. She was really angry.

She said that it was our fault that she wanted to escape now. I think they've tried to escape before and been brought back.

We really need to get those kids out of there.

i too, come bearing great info!!

after i boarded the train back to starsand, i found a note in my backpack that wasn't there before.

this is my handwriting. but i don't remember writing it.

i also had a note from kokichi in my pocket. i talked to him a little, and he shared with me an audio recording of a conversation we must have had with this epsilon guy. i'll leave it up to him whether he wants to share that or not.

but it let me know that i promised epsilon i'd meet him again. that i told him i'd be waiting for him, whenever he was ready for my help.

i don't know what this will lead to, i guess. but i figured it was important information to share.

I'll go ahead and sum up what's on that audio recording: if you meet Eppy-Deppy, you're gonna want to record or take notes. Guy's got a forgetfulness radar going on. Right now he's hostile and aligned with The Facility, but I can see that changing in the future. Not that I'm the best guy to handle that, honestly. I'm not exactly someone suited to handling the problems of others unless they're my friends, but I'm going to be helping Luz where I can.

If anyone has any questions, Luz and I will help answer. We're in this together, for better or worse.
