[If he really wanted to get away, Leo has a whole five levels of city to hide in. If he was truly dedicated to this, then he could choose to never be found. Yet for some reason, he's chosen a public garden to wait in and not even one that's far from the apartment. Because yes, he realizes, he's waiting. If Elliot is angry, he'll want to find Leo and show him that anger. The least that Leo can do is offer him a target for that feeling. He'll deserve it.

Leo is certain that Elliot will be pissed. He's done his best to confess to all of his 'crimes' with the way that he framed the servant. It's an attempt to remind Elliot who the root of everything was. The ending, with its parallel to Elliot's least favorite Holy Knight character, should drive that home. Though not conscious of his terrible habit, Leo is self-destructive and this story is now written evidence of it.

He waits for the full hour. A few minutes past it too. Leo is exhausted from the long day and beginning to nod off on the bench when he hears his name. His heart leaps and he feels an unfair hope that Elliot isn't angry. Maybe they can work things out? Or... Maybe he'd rather preserve this unknown. Duck out of sight, ignore Elliot and let him pass. It might be better to never know if Elliot hates him or not...

That's stupid. And wrong and cruel. This is their story. Leo needs to see it through, even if it means parting ways.

So Leo does stand up from the bench. Luckily he does see his friend nearby and Leo doesn't need to raise his voice very loud. He sounds tired and his smile is empty. Not even a threat. If anything, it's accepting.]

Ah, Elliot! Did you enjoy the story?
