Hiya! This is a completely open post for all the shenanigans my characters will be getting up to this month, outside of the mingle. If you wanted to do a thread with me and wasn't sure where to do so, hit me up here! If I can think of an open prompt I'll post it here, otherwise hit me up if you want something closed! Feel free to reach out through the Discord server, or PM perpendicular.

Under the cut are blurbs on who they are, and underneath are what they're going through at the moment. Fun stuff! If you have an idea, feel free to hit up their respective TL or ask me for a closed starter!

- Ryoko Asakura, Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan (CRAU)

Ryoko Asakura, as opposed to the OU version of her, is meant to be a normal girl who dotes over her friends and acts as a "mother" to her best friend. Constantly worrying, yet constantly teasing her in an attempt to bring her closer with her crush. She likes those friends and she likes oden, and she's very normal about both of them. On top of this, she's a CRAU from soulgemmed; a Puella Magi Madoka Magica based RP, so she's a magi herself. Her magic revolves around her Closed Space, faint spacial distortion, and a general need to keep those close to her safe. She can be scary, but is always well-meaning and always loving.

Also, she has a cute palmtop tiger girlfriend.

- Rinne Rokudo, Kyoukai no Rinne

Rinne Rokudo is a shinigami (kind of). A half-human half-shinigami, Rinne spent most of his time assisting spirits in passing on to the Circle of Reincarnation and eliminating the debt that his father put in his name. That debt pretty much drained his finances, so he's been poor for a long, long while. He can come across as cool and collected, but he's generally a huge dork, especially when receiving free things. In Starsand, he spends most of his time working at the Shrine of Sin under Hanyuu, and dresses semi-normally thanks to Mafuyu and Kanade's efforts. He's also presently moonlighting as an interpreter for those who can't communicate with spirits.

- Twilight / Loid Forger, Spy x Family

Twilight is a spy from Westalis, in a cold war-esque era where he's attempting to quell tensions between his country and the neighboring Ostania, trying to prevent an all out war. He's presently a part of "Operation Strix", which sees him take up the mantle of "Loid Forger", a psychiatrist living in Ostania with a wife and child. After adopting his new "daughter" Anya, and his "wife" Yor, he's tasked with turning Anya into an imperial scholar in order to get close to known warmonger Donovan Desmond. While he keeps his identity as a spy a secret, unbeknownst to him, Anya is a psychic and Yor is an assassin. They live peacefully while trying to maintain their secret lives.

Except, in Starsand, Twilight now knows who Yor is.

- Ryuunosuke Fujinami, Urusei Yatsura

At first glance, Ryuunosuke Fujinami comes across as a cool, aloof guy. Except, Ryuu is a girl. Raised as a boy by her overbearing father, Ryuunosuke is the next in line to inherit the Hama Tea Shop, having had to work there year round. Through her rough upbringing, she's learned how to brawl with her dad, all in an attempt to make her tough enough to run the shop. However, Ryuu's true goal is to be more feminine, to wear lipstick and eventually be able to buy and wear a bra. Something she feels she can't do until she finally defeats her father. She's... basically a walking pastiche of some martial arts movies from the 80s. In Starsand, she's typically either doing self-defense training with Yor or working at Mikale's cafe.

- Karin Kitano, Original

Karin Kitano was the daughter of a yakuza family's head. Having followed his lead her entire life, she's got a rough exterior, hardened by the people around her yet sculpted by her father's kindness towards her. In her last year of high school, her family was hit by a rival clan, completely wiping them out. As she protected them as much as she could, while she was close to death, she heard a voice offering her a gift. Having taken it, she's become a wanderer. A magical girl frozen in time, she maintains that brutal mentality of protecting those close to her at any cost, and treats the town she protects as her territory. Vicious to others, kind to her followers.

- Miyuki Shirogane, Kaguya-sama: Love is War

Miyuki Shirogane is the former student council president of Shuchiin Academy, a highly prestigious school in Tokyo, Japan. An extremely hard worker, he was known for his sharp, intimidating eyes and his reliability as the number one student in his year. His hard-working nature was mostly to impress Kaguya Shinomiya, to become a man worthy of standing next to her. In reality, he's trying his hardest to keep things together, and is kind of a huge dork. Without spoiling too much, the two have finally come together as one, and Shirogane has left Shuchiin for Stanford.

- B.B. Hood, Darkstalkers

Baby Bonnie Hood is, on the surface, a sweet and innocent girl. Every much the spitting image of sweetness, her face hides a cruel and violent hunter underneath. B.B. is a Dark Hunter, tasked with killing monsters known as Darkstalkers either as protection or for the sake of research, all for the sake of profit. She's extremely greedy, quick to pick up a gun, and incredibly deceptive. Like Ryoko, Bonnie is a CRAU from soulgemmed, and is a magi as well. While she still occasionally tries to keep her innocent side up, she otherwise has aged a couple years. She still wears the hood and cape occasionally, but she's now less cruel and more jaded, having recently learned the truth about what being a magi means in terms of her humanity.

→Has been quiet the last couple of months, dealing with goings on around the shrine.
→Will generally be planting flowers and acting as an interpreter for spirits.
→Will be around to assist with the daffodil effect, since he can do that mostly naturally with his haori.

→Will be re-opening his practice (post to follow).
→Has been struggling to deal with finding out that Yor is an assassin; thus has been spending minimal time at home.
→Assisting in any investigations regarding the facility and Starsand as a whole.
→Can occasionally be found as Louis, wearing a disguise outside to gather more info. The spirits can see through him.

→Still working to get stronger, and also work at the tea shop.
→Kinda. Attempting to wear a skirt privately? She's mainly been sticking to pants though.
→Wants to learn more about this time period and why everything's so weird in the future.

karin kitano

→Annoyed still, but a bit less so as she deals with the knowledge that she has to stay in town until the Facility's done.
→Punched Theta, wants to continue to punch Theta.
→Formed a pact in January, now has a baby lizard hanging around her wanting to cause problems.
→Kinda bored. Kinda lonelyish? She won't cop to that though.

→Refusing to acknowledge her magi self, pretending she's still the same person as before she became meguca.
→Poking around for information, maybe on this Facility everyone's chirping about?
→Collecting materials like she's in a survival game, wanting to pull together a cache of weaponry.

[ Yor has... honestly been avoiding the house for as much as possible, especially after he found out about her true identity as an assassin. She really didn't know how she was going to handle their relationship.

It's why her routine has changed: she wakes up bright and early and doesn't come home until the late hours of the evening, way past what would be considered normal, much less "night".

It'd be perhaps one, perhaps two in the morning when she'd finally make her way to the Forger home; sometimes she'd shakily take out her keys, wondering if maybe today would finally be the day that Loid changed the locks and kicked her out for good. A lot of the nights were definitely sleepless ones; she'd sleep maybe only a couple of hours to the point where her expressions during the day would even seem dark due to the exhaustive bags under her eyes.

Sure, she's quiet and avoidant, but at least Yor's still able to be... spoken to at the dining table during breakfast? She still needs to eat, at least. But she's picking at it very, very slowly. ]

Hey, Karin-san!

[You're being stopped in the street when Sam sees you! This is something that she's been thinking about for a while now, but to Karin it might seem really random and out of the blue:]

Wanna go stay at a cottage together?

[For most of the month, Yuuto has been overthinking the meaning behind the flower planting traditions in his own city. He's never had the option of planting seeds before, because he knew how irresponsible it would be. But now, when he might be able to see a flower he planted grow, it's very tempting.

Even a flower like the ones planted for heart burial.

He's collected a lot of seeds this month and has yet to have the courage to plant any. Yuuto has been mostly focused on protecting the feelings that have been planted. So when he sees a dear friend by a flower bed, he pauses and watches curiously.]

... Ryoko? Is everything okay?

[loveedition]

[ Ryoko has... a lot that needs to be buried. Despite the time she's spent in Starsand City, despite everything that's happened, there's always plenty on her mind. Stuff that she absolutely needs to bury. Some things, deeper than others. ]

Ah... ah, um...

As okay as everything always is?

[ Convincing. ]

[spacialeyes]

[... What does that even mean for them anymore?

He walks over to her, looking worried.]

Do you need anything..?

[fauxther]

[ The house has been empty in general.

Loid's spent most of his time in the office, a lot of time out gathering information about the city during the night, and... arriving, a little earlier than usual. It might be suspicious, but there had been moments where he'd be gone for most of the day and return, not seeing Yor home yet.

They were both handling this horribly. He's absolutely aware of that.

Loid takes his place at the table, just as quiet. Trying to figure out what he should say.

...no, he knows exactly what he needs to say. ]

Yor.

[ He's mostly quiet, not really looking her way. This was uncomfortable, but... ]

...the house has seemed really quiet lately.

[loveedition]

No no, I'm fine...

[ ...she... shouldn't really hide these things, should she? ]

Um... I heard about this heart burial thing, so I thought I would give it a try. I figured, what would the harm really be...?

[spacialeyes]

I see.

[Yuuto looks down into his clasped hands, where he has been holding a package of seeds. He hesitates for only a moment, before nodding and lowering his voice.]

I was thinking the same thing. If nothing else... Seeking forgiveness is a good first step, right? Did you already plant something, Ryoko?

[mothornly]

...

[ There is a vacancy in her deep red eyes as she doesn't even look up at him, instead poking at her food with a fork as if it'd do anything. It doesn't, of course.

When she shifts to use the knife, a little absentmindedly, she accidentally puts too much strength into it, cracking the plate. ]

Ah.

[ Oh no. Her face turns pale. ]

I-I'm sorry--

[ That the house has been quiet lately or that she broke a plate? Probably both. ]

[fauxther]

[ One is less trying than the other. Plates can be replaced easily. On the other hand, this atmosphere felt absolutely rotten.

It had the same feeling of a relationship ready to deteriorate. A married couple simply wed and unable to wait to be apart from each other.

His marriage, his world, was being threatened by so much uncertainty that it was throwing them off. ]

I... I think the problem is that we've been overworking ourselves lately. Getting everything set up after that scare in January has been tough.

I don't have any appointments for the next week, though... and I've heard of an area where we can relax for a while, if you don't mind taking some time away from your classes.

[ A dangerous gamble for sure. Like always, he was asking her to be alone with him for an extended period of time.

If he's completely wrong about this... then, they'll return together. It's as simple as that. ]

[myturf]

[ It IS random and out of the blue. She'd been on and off spending time down there, and probably made it seem pretty damn fun.

...

The question's still pretty funny though. ]

Movin' kinda quick, ain't ya? Not comfy hangin' around on your own?

[ Before she can get a chance to answer, Karin holds up a hand. ]

Sure. I'm startin' to like those cottages.

[ Overworking... probably was something that she was doing.

Overthinking... was also a thing that she was doing, not that she knew that she was doing something like that. She can't help but sniffle - a bit dramatically - as she pokes at the broken pieces.

She'll clean it up later. It's one of the only things she's good at, after all. ]

[ But then, he actually invites her out somewhere, and that's enough for Yor's head to snap back up, eyes still watery with stupid, stupid tears for doing something so dumb as to break a plate with her gorilla strength, eyes widening ever so slightly. ]

I don't mind, but...

[ She trails off, chewing her lip. She doesn't want to bring it up; it terrifies her to even dare. ]

... you don't mind?

[fauxther]

[ He minds immensely.

Truly, even her having that bit of concern for him should be enough to get him to calm down inside, but it was impossible. Even as they avoided each other, he couldn't tell what her actual next moves were.

It was, in essence, one chance for him to check her intentions. There may be a second element in play, so he'd have to get that together as well. ]

Of course I don't. Despite what I saw, I can't bring myself to be afraid of you.

[ An out and out, transparent lie. ]

[mothornly]

... Why?

[ It's a single word, but it's one that asks more underneath the surface. How can he not be afraid of her? Why hasn't he told anyone else about her? It just doesn't make any sense. ]

[fauxther]

[ He has to think for a brief second, but it is brief. Something comes to mind. ]

Before that dream, I could only remember a woman who was kind and mostly gentle. Both with me, and with my daughter. If Anya wouldn't be afraid of you, then I certainly wouldn't.

[ Granted, he doesn't know that for sure. He barely even knows if that's rational justification for not having left already.

...but. There was some truth to that line of thinking. ]

[mothornly]

But that was before. And Anya, she's--

[ She isn't here, in this world. Which is a relief in of itself, given some of the things about this world that are unfit for a kid to live peacefully in. ]

I wouldn't do anything to hurt you or her...
